HOW IT WORKS

Three steps from order to exit

We act on day one. Most exits resolve within 30-90 days, depending on the franchisor's pace and the complexity of your situation.

  1. Submit your Franchise Agreement

Use the order form below. Upload your FA and any related documents (PDF up to 25 MB), pay the flat fee, and we begin same-day.

  2. We review and strategize with you

We read your FA and related documents, identify your exit options, and develop a negotiation strategy aligned with your goals — a clean exit, a transfer, a non-renewal, or termination.

  3. We negotiate your exit

We handle direct communications with the franchisor or their counsel. You stay informed throughout and we close the exit on the best terms available.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a franchise exit typically take?
Most exits resolve within 30-90 days from engagement to final settlement, depending on the franchisor’s responsiveness and the complexity of your situation. Simpler exits — non-renewals, clean transfers — can close in a few weeks. Contested exits or situations with significant disputes can run longer.
What if my franchisor refuses to negotiate?
Franchisors negotiate more often than franchisees expect. When they refuse, our work shifts from negotiation to position-building — documenting the franchisor’s posture, identifying their legal exposure, and developing leverage points. The flat fee covers this work; we don’t change rates because the franchisor is difficult.
What types of exits do you handle?
Termination (voluntary and involuntary), transfer to a new owner, non-renewal at the end of term, and negotiated wind-down. Each has different mechanics and different leverage points. Part of our initial review is identifying which exit pathway gives you the best outcome.
Will I be in breach if I exit?
Not necessarily. Most franchise agreements include exit mechanisms (transfer, non-renewal, termination by mutual agreement) that don’t constitute breach. Where breach is the only available pathway, we structure the exit to minimize damages exposure and post-term obligations.
What happens to my non-compete after exit?
Post-term non-competes are one of the largest sources of dispute in franchise exits. Most are enforceable in some form but their scope is often narrower than the franchisor claims. We review your specific non-compete and develop a strategy to either negotiate its modification or work within its bounds.
Do you handle franchisor disputes or just exits?
This package is structured around exits. If your situation involves an active dispute — pending litigation, ongoing arbitration, or a serious enforcement action — we can quote that work separately. The Franchise Exit Package focuses on the exit-negotiation lane.
Will you talk to the franchisor on my behalf?
Yes. Direct negotiation with the franchisor or their counsel is the core deliverable of this package. We become your interface, which keeps you out of confrontational exchanges and gives you space to focus on what comes next.
What documents should I have ready?
Your franchise agreement, any amendments or side letters, the most recent FDD if you have it, any default notices or franchisor communications about the dispute, and your most recent royalty statements. You can send additional documents after the project is set up.
